About & FAQ
Hello, I’m Lia (pronounced Leah, or “Lee-uh”) Thistle, and writing romances with magical elements and deep, spicy connections is a great joy for me.
My love for romance started young, drawn by the dramatic covers of old “bodice-ripper” books with the swooning women that adorned the shelves. Over time, that fascination would evolve into something more: a deep joy for writing kissing (and other forms of intimacy) stories.
When I’m not writing about spicy love, I spend time sewing, spending time with my cats, video games, and daydreaming about my next book.
When did you start writing?
My love of books and writing started early—I was practically raised in a library. I devoured reading challenges, carried a book with me everywhere, and daydreamed so much in school that I might as well have disappeared. Somewhere in those quiet corners, I hand wrote my first story (which, in hindsight, was definitely a little too inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia). From there, I dabbled in story telling over the years, before I devoted myself completely to the art.
How spicy are your books?
It depends on the book/series! Spice in romance is nothing I am shy about, so some books and parts may have gratuitous scenes. If you want to know more about the heat levels, please look for the book’s page for additional information.
How often do you send your newsletter? What’s in it?
At the moment, I send a newsletter about every other month! In it, I include new book release information, bonus content, and more to keep readers informed.
What authors have influenced you?
As a young adult, some of the most influential authors have been Tamora Pierce, Vivian Van Velde, and Kristin Cashore.
As I grew, so did my influential authors! Some of them include Sarah J Mass, Kathryn Moon, and Brandon Sanderson.
